Letter from the President

Dear PARA Parents, Coaches and Sponsors:

Welcome to the 2010 PARA Athletic Season! Our sincere thanks to the County, many volunteers, faithful parents and sponsors for providing the young athletes of Pace with a great facility to play sports!

As I enter my first year as the President at PARA, I would like for us all to take time and reflect on the accomplishments achieved by the outgoing President, Charles Baxley. His diligence and determination as the President of PARA the last 10 years has benefited the park and all of its members. I personally thank him for his service.

I also thank the members of your PARA Board of Directors. This Board is made up of 30 members and they are parents like you. Year in & year out, they show their volunteer attitude and hard work to ensure our children have successful athletic experiences. With this park servicing around 1,000 children, their service is very important and appreciated.

In addition to the Board of Directors, I would like to especially thank the Vice Presidents of the 2010 season. Their dedication, meeting attendance and planning have a direct and profound impact on our seasons. The Vice Presidents for the 2010 season are:

To the coaches, team Moms and other volunteers, I also send a heart-felt thank you. You have direct contact with the kids that make up this organization. In no way is your role within this park trivial. You have a very important task and responsibility. Parents have entrusted the athletic development of their children with you. Thank you for your willingness to take on this very important task.

As we embark on this new chapter in this park’s history book, we will face challenges. We are in an economic climate that we have not seen in a while. Now more than ever, we are indebted to the businesses and corporations who have elected to invest in our children, with their generous sponsorships. This generosity allows us to keep our registration at a level that can be affordable. As we navigate the current economic conditions, I am confident that we can team up and do so together, successfully. Please notice the sponsorship signs on the various fields and show your gratitude, by giving them your patronage.

Lastly, thank you from the bottom of my heart to my wife, Tracey, and children: Lena, Jake & Anna Grace for allowing me to take on this endeavor for the park. The late night calls, meetings and other tasks are well tolerated by them and I appreciate that. We are looking forward to a great year at PARA!
